The East Anglian Group of Marine Artists (EAGMA) is a small group of professional and semi-professional artists united by a shared passion for depicting marine subjects.

As well as holding regular exhibitions, EAGMA meets socially and enjoys several outdoor painting days each year, often including a session "afloat" on members' yachts or aboard a traditional Thames Sailing Barge.

The group was founded in 1979, when six marine painters met at the famous Butt and Oyster pub at Pin Mill on the banks of the River Orwell in Suffolk. They were soon joined by other well-known and highly regarded artists, inspired by the rich variety of marine subjects found along the East Coast. Following its inaugural exhibition in 1980, EAGMA has continued to grow in both quality and diversity, earning a reputation as one of the country's most respected marine art societies.

Autumntide '26, the forthcoming exhibition at ArtSpace Gallery in Woodbridge, will showcase a wealth of new work by EAGMA members, including evocative scenes of the Rivers Deben and Orwell, alongside a wide range of maritime subjects from around the British coast and beyond.
