Felixstowe-based artist Jim Nind presents a new body of mixed media paintings which playfully interweave painting, photography, and digital design.

Pushing at the boundaries to what David Hockney refers to as “the tyranny of the rectangle” Jim’s recent work seeks to escape his own use of multiple images patch-worked within tight and containing grid compositions; breaking out in interesting ways. Paralleling this compositional challenge, and drawing upon the power and fragility of the natural world, Jim’s work develops a metaphor around the relationship between organic life and made structures.
